Harboring Hearts Celebrates Heart Month 2019!

We are so grateful for our patients, families, hospital partners, volunteers, donors, and supporters! In February, we celebrated our Harboring Hearts family through various hospital events, fundraising events, and community collaborations.

Annual Pediatric Cardiology Valentine’s Reunion at Mount Sinai Hospital – With the help of our volunteers from Mulesoft and our Junior Board, caregivers and patients alike brought out their creative side as they made beaded hearts and inspirational hearts of kindness for this annual heart celebration. Thank you Mulesoft for your partnership and for such extraordinary volunteers joining us!

CHAM Heart Transplant Reunion: Montefiore

Annual Pediatric Reunion Heart Party at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore – With the help of two magicians and 8 volunteers from Capital One Bank, over 130 heart patients, and caregivers made arts and crafts, took photos in the photo booth, and danced the evening with away. We are grateful for your support Capital One!

Community Collaborations:

Thank you to Veronica Beard Gives Back for such an amazing partnership! Within the month of February, $10 from every online purchase through Veronica Beard was donated to Harboring Hearts. Demi Grace, HH supporter, singer, and caregiver to her mother, joined this campaign to help raise awareness about the role caregivers plan in the health journey of their loved one. Thank you, Demi and VBGB!

Thank you to Karen owner of First Wind Cycling and Fitness in Charlotte, North Carolina. On February 26th, she hosted a spin class in honor of Heart Month for Harboring Hearts. It was a great way for participants to give back and keep their heart healthy at the same time!

Thank you to Bloomingdale’s Soho for hosting our “Love Your Heart” Panel Discussion and Shopping Event on February 21st! With the help of our moderator and wonderful panelists, guests learned from experts of ways they could keep their heart a bit healthier this year while using their consumer dollars for good!

Thank you to Nike Soho, Holly Rilinger (Nike Master Trainer) and Nate “Tiny” Archibald (NBA Hall of Famer, Boston Celtics) for your support as we celebrated our patients and families during our Annual Family Fun Day celebration on February 28th! Six of our pediatric patients and their families came together to celebrate their heart journeys! HUGE thank you to Levain Bakery and Il Mattone for your donation to our celebration – every bite was memorable and delicious!
