A Heart to Harboring Heart Introduction

From the original article:
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, it is hard to forget how difficult this holiday can be for heart patients and their families. For much of 2006 through 2008, Yuki Kotani and I spent more time in hospital rooms than in our own bedrooms; including holidays. Our fathers were both receiving heart transplants at New York Presbyterian Hospital and although mutual friends did not introduce us until 2008, we could immediately relate to each other’s experiences alongside our families and the families of other patients during this period of our lives.

The charity event will feature a “Range Rover Hole-in-One” challenge and live entertainment from a cappella group Treble, who performed on NBC’s “The Sing Off.” There will also be a silent auction and a dinner with reception to honor Dr. Philip Ragno of Winthrope Hospital.

Inaugural Spring Community Event

On behalf of Harboring Hearts Housing, we would like to cordially invite you to our “Inaugural Spring Community Event” on May 11th, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the brand new Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

As we continue to raise funds and awareness about our organization we want to begin providing support to the cardiac patients and their families.  At our first community event we will have catered food and entertainment for patients and their families undergoing cardiac care at the hospital.  This opportunity will allow the patients and families to mingle with others going through similar experiences and we hope that they will create bonds that will last a lifetime.
