Team Transition at Harboring Hearts

As 2021 comes to an end, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of our new Executive Director, Pamela Kass and the promotion of Nikkya Hargrove to Vice President Operations & Programs for Harboring Hearts.

Pamela comes to Harboring Hearts from the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation. During her time with CPARF, Pamela has led the team in strategic partnership development and marketing the organizations key fundraising initiative, STEPtember. Prior to her current role, Pamela was on the development team of AVON walk series where she assisted in many multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns. Pamela is originally from North Carolina and she graduated from Wingate University. Pamela originally became acquainted with Harboring Hearts a few years back when she introduced us to her father, an incredible and inspiring heart transplant recipient. We are thrilled to welcome Pamela onboard starting January 10th, 2022.

Nikkya Hargrove joined the Harboring Hearts team in 2018 and has served as our fearless Director of Programs for the past 3 years. During Nikkya’s time with Harboring Hearts she has expanded our work to help more transplant and cardiac surgery patients than ever before, while creating deep lasting relationships with the social work departments at each of our 8 partner hospitals. In addition to our Emergency Fund, under Nikkya’s leadership we weathered the COVID forced transition from robust in person events to all virtual support programming for our patients across New York. With Nikkya’s creativity and perseverance, the organization has found new opportunities to support our patients during their critical time of need. Nikkya will move into her new role as of January 1, 2022.
