World Heart Day: Threading Success
On September 29th, we celebrated World Heart Day. Several of our dedicated partners helped us bring awareness and made #WHD2022 a success!
We were a chosen charity of #VBGIVESBACKDAY. Each quarter, Veronica Beard chooses a charity to host events in their stores for a particular day. Then 10% of sales are donated to the charity #VBGIVESBACKDAY chose to honor. We are grateful they chose Harboring Hearts.
World Heart Day ‘22 - New York City
We are in awe of our World Heart Day Ambassadors, who volunteered to host shopping events on World Heart Day at stores in: New York City, Greenwich, Dallas, and Houston. The day was a great success. Each event was led by a host, the store was closed for two hours, and guests arrived by invitation from our Ambassadors to shop for a good cause! #VBGIVES BACK DAY donated 10% of funds raised during that window of time to Harboring Hearts. In all, we raised $3,840.70.

In addition, we are grateful to a beloved local supermarket, Stew Leonard's EastMeadow who featured Harboring Hearts via its Wishing Well program in September, collecting pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters in support of cardiac families across NY, NJ, and CT! In all, $595.69 was collected. That’s a lot of change helping cardiac families!
Speaking of change… we share our thanks to Good Today for highlighting the work of Harboring Hearts through its unique giving platform –– a quarter a day –– on World Heart Day.
Each day, Good Today subscribers receive an email with the day’s cause and two charities to choose from. They are given the option of selecting one charity or rolling over their $.25 contribution to the following day. On World Heart Day, $778.62 was raised for Harboring Hearts through the generosity of Good Today subscribers.
Our programs are strengthened by the continued support of #VBGIVESBACK, Stew Leonard's, Good Today, and so many of our other partners. Together, we’ll continue to give hope to hearts everywhere!
